09.02.2009 - In November the quantity of clients of the Ukrainian Public Employment Service has grown up to 135000 people and till the beginning of the winter it makes up 695000 people
Several months ago a huge amount of companies, not only Ukrainian but also foreign which are located in and have their subsidiaries here, discharged their employees on grounds of staff reduction. However many experts predict that this was only the first wave of dismissals. In November the quantity of clients of the Ukrainian Public Employment Service has grown up to 135000 people and till the beginning of the winter it makes up 695000 people. But according to official returns only 6,5 thousand employees had been laid off during November. Employees of the heavy industry and building industry suffered most of all. According to the forecast of the Ukrainian Minister of Labour and Social policy, Ludmila Denisova, amount of unemployed in April 2009 will gain quantity of 1,5 bln. people. Such forecasts are based on the present dynamics, besides informal data noticeably exceeds official statistics.
